Torrevieja to La Mata Travel Guide

5th February 2019

La Mata (and the adjacent Torre La Mata) is a charming corner of the Costa Blanca bordering Torrevieja. So close at hand, La Mata is often seen as an extension of the town of Torrevieja itself. However, this location is very different to its former fishing village neighbour…

Smaller, quieter and much less populated, La Mata offers an alternative Spanish seaside experience. That’s why many visitors choose to swap the vibrancy of Torrevieja for a trip to this pretty area at least once during their stay. It’s also the reason why many visitors staying in La Mata make frequent trips to the bustle of Torrevieja to eat, drink, socialise, shop and soak up more of the local flavour. Home to more amenities than La Mata, Torrevieja is a short trip away – perfect for popping out for dinner or visiting some sights.

Planning to make the trip? It couldn’t be easier to travel from Torrevieja to La Mata – and there are plenty of transport options including an hour’s walk, taxis, rental cars and public transport.
