Fancy a saunter somewhere green? You’ll find plenty of serene, verdant places in Torrevieja, perfect for shady strolls – and a spot of sightseeing too! From botanical loveliness and preening peacocks to a scale replica of the continent of Europe, Torrevieja’s parks are well worth exploring. Discover some of our favourite parks in Torrevieja in this guide…

1. Garden of Nations

Ronda Cesar Canovas Girada, 11, Torrevieja, Spain

A short stroll from the centre of Torrevieja, the Garden of Nations is a glorious park, perfect for enjoying with the whole family. Home to a scale replica of the European continent, the Garden of Nations is also bursting with bird life, including ducks, chickens and peacocks. Make sure you take some bird seed along to make some feathered friends! Well maintained, with lovely plants and fountains, this park also features a kiosk bar and a well-equipped playground for youngsters.

2. Aromático Park

Av. Torreblanca, 29, Torrevieja, Spain

Easily accessible, just off the N332, Aromático Park is a particularly tranquil park in Torrevieja. Named for the many lovely herbs and plants growing in its gardens, this small park is a calm oasis for visitors seeking a quiet stroll through twisting paths and fountains. There’s even a small playground for keeping the kids entertained. Canine lovers should note, however, that this park is not dog-friendly.

3. Doña Sinforosa Park

Calle Doña Sinforosa, 2, 03185 Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain

Located to the South of Torrevieja, a stone’s throw from the Salt Dock and Acequión Beach, this shady garden was inspired by an 18th Century design, including charming cobblestones and fountains. This park is especially great for bird-watchers, as it is the home of a flock of green parrots. Sit back, relax and watch the birds while the kids are occupied in the playground.

4. Estación Park

03185 Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain

Right next to Doña Sinforosa Park, visitors will find Estación Park, a well-maintained green corner of Torrevieja. Within the grounds you’ll discover chickens, sculptures, avenues of trees and even a replica of the Cathedral of Oviedo! The park is open every day between 10am and 9.30pm.

Carrer Porta de la Morera, 49, Elx, Spain

For a brilliant botanical experience, take a drive 40 minutes North of Torrevieja to Elche. Admission to these splendid gardens costs 5 Euros, giving you access to a gorgeous little oasis full of cacti, succulents, stunning trees and wildlife. Home to painted mandarin ducks, turtles, koi carp and white peacocks, this garden is a wonderful spot for an afternoon’s wandering.

“Thanks so much for making this holiday for us, it was really fantastic…what a location!!! The apartment was well maintained with all the important things for us – a good sized fridge and freezer, super shower, English TV, effective air con, and then the pool – 10 out of 10. Can’t wait to return.”
