13th June 2017
Are you planning on getting some work done while you soak up the sun? Whether you’re a full time, nomadic remote worker or simply need to check in with work while you’re on holiday, Torrevieja is becoming increasingly connected with plenty of spots with free WiFi located away from your apartment, hotel or hostel – perfect for when you fancy a break and want to soak up some local atmosphere while you crack on.
From spots in the town square, to tasty restaurants and relaxed cafes, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite spots in Torrevieja with free WiFi. Here are our picks…
1) Keeper Bar
Want to plough through your work with a view of the beach and the sea? Buy a coffee, a snack, a beer or even a cocktail at Keeper Bar to get connected close to the Hombre del Mar monument on the Paseo Juan Aparicio esplanade. A staple of Torrevieja’s nightlife scene, this popular bar is close to many great spots to eat and drink, ideal for when you’re ready to call it a day on the work front.
2) Plaza de la Constitución
Torrevieja’s central square (or plaza) has free WiFi for visitors to make use of. If your screen has glare protection or you can find a shady spot to sit, you can enjoy the comings and goings outside the town’s main church and watch the world go by as you get on with your daily grind.
3) Cafetería Goya
To enjoy a quiet coffee in an authentically Spanish location, try hooking up your laptop at Cafetería Goya. You’ll of course need to pay your way with a coffee or two, but this is an unpretentious local spot where you can get some work done and soak up the local vibe.
4) Susie’s Bar
If you’re feeling a bit homesick, the teeny tiny Susie’s Bar in the Los Balcones area of Torrevieja will sort you out with a good old fashioned cup of English Breakfast and even a Sunday roast plus provide free WiFi for patrons. If a slap up full English is what you need to get powered up for a day of work, you’ll find what you’re looking for here alongside a reliable internet connection.
5) Torrevieja Library
Searching for some peace and quiet which will let you get on with your work undisturbed? Torrevieja’s library is a good spot to check out. With free WiFi and plenty of seating, you can get plenty of work done for free here, without interruptions. The library is open from 8am-8.30pm Monday to Friday but is closed on weekends and public holidays. Visit their website.
