Spain’s Italian neighbours may be the spiritual home of coffee, but nothing beats a continental coffee in the morning while soaking up a brand new local culture.

The perfect way to ease into your holiday, a fresh cup of coffee while watching the hustle and bustle of Torrevieja go by is hard to beat. So where are the best places to get caffeinated in this charming Costa Blanca fishing town? Allow us to recommend some of our favourites…

1) Deli Pan

While many of Torrevieja’s coffee shops lie to the South East of the town, you’ll find this tasty little place to the North West. If you’re keen to explore the scenic salt lakes to the North of Torrevieja, Deli Pan is a great place to boost your caffeine levels and fuel up before or after your adventure. If you’re a pastry lover, this is a must-visit spot. This panaderia’s chocolate bread is a popular local treat. The ample outdoor seating is perfect for watching the world go by, too.

2) The Panaterria Café

More finger-licking sweet treats and lovingly made coffee can be found at The Panaterria Café, right in the middle of this bustling town. Chocolatey delicacies and sumptuous desserts are very much the order of the day here, with all sorts of sweet treats available to satisfy any sugar craving.

3) Leonardo

Boasting a “Parisian” atmosphere, Leonardo is a pleasing spot for a coffee – or even a cheeky cocktail if you’re enjoying a lazy afternoon of indulgence. A short stroll from both the marina and Torrevieja’s amusement park, this is a handy starting spot for a morning of exploring and fun.

4) Cafe de Provence

Feel as though you’re taking a trip to the lavender fields of Provence during your stay on the Costa Blanca by visiting the charming little Cafe de Provence. Pop into this beautifully decorated, white and purple cafe for a quick coffee, something sweet or a delicious lunch. You’ll find it on Calle de Concepcion, a short saunter South from the Plaza de Constitucion.

5) Lolyta Cafe

Perhaps the prettiest place to grab coffee in Torrevieja, the Lolyta cafe features a gorgeous shabby chic interior, complete with a floral ceiling and rustic, painted furniture. Lovingly created, visitors even have great things to say about this eatery’s attentive staff. The stunning cakes served at Lolyta are almost impossible to say no to, so don’t count on just stopping in for a coffee alone! Many of the delicacies on offer feature the cafe’s signature, quirky floral decorations, which include real flowers.
