For sailing sorts and lovers of adventure, there are also all sorts of spots you can visit by boat, a short journey over the waves from Torrevieja. If you’re in the mood for a short voyage over the sparkling blue Mediterranean, we’ve compiled a list of five of the best boat trips from Torrevieja.

1. Isla Tabarca

The paradisiacal Isla Tabarca is one of the most popular boat trips from Torrevieja. This charming little island is located in the heart of a maritime reserve, which means it’s fantastic for snorkelers and scuba divers. Take a 40-minute ride by catamaran or boat and you’ll find yourself on a pretty island, rich in history. Isla Tabarca even used to be inhabited by pirates!

A great short boat trip for kids, hop aboard to check out the beaches and boats of the area.

3. Alicante

Want to check out one of the major cities and tourist destinations in the area? Why not visit Alicante by boat? Located just 50km north along the Costa Blanca, the buzzing city of Alicante is a popular spot with many visitors, boasting a vibrant nightlife along with great restaurants, popular beaches and plenty of activities for visiting holidaymakers. A little over an hour away by sea, chartering a boat from Torrevieja is a fun way to visit this famous destination.

4. Cartagena

After a proper voyage? Charter a boat from Torrevieja to Cartagena, south along the Costa Blanca and into the region of Murcia. An incredibly historic port town, this ancient city was founded around 220 BC by the Carthaginians home to a Roman amphitheater and lots of astonishing ancient ruins, this is a fascinating destination for history buffs. Around 2-3 hours away by boat, a trip to Cartagena is a lengthy voyage, but an exciting trip if you want to soak up some ocean fun.

“We had a fantastic holiday, the apartment is an ideal size, clean, bright, comfortable, well-equipped, and secure and the air-conditioning is very effective. We really appreciated the little extras of beach chairs, parasol and toys for the children. The pool is lovely and was not overcrowded. The apartment location is superb with stunning sea views from the balcony and everything in easy walking distance. We would wholeheartedly recommend OrbiPlaya and we look forward to returning in the future.”

“The apartment had a lovely view of the beach and sea. It was very clean. The beach was nice and quiet with plenty of restaurants. You couldn’t ask for more.”
