Do you love the sea? In the historic former fishing town of Torrevieja, you’ll be spoilt for sea-centric entertainment and experiences. Whether you’re a beachcomber, a sunbather, an amateur angler, a watersports adrenaline-seeker or a keen snorkeler, there’s all sorts of aquatic fun to be had on this glorious portion of the Costa Blanca.
For sailing sorts and lovers of adventure, there are also all sorts of spots you can visit by boat, a short journey over the waves from Torrevieja. If you’re in the mood for a short voyage over the sparkling blue Mediterranean, we’ve compiled a list of five of the best boat trips from Torrevieja.
1. Isla Tabarca
The paradisiacal Isla Tabarca is one of the most popular boat trips from Torrevieja. This charming little island is located in the heart of a maritime reserve, which means it’s fantastic for snorkelers and scuba divers. Take a 40-minute ride by catamaran or boat and you’ll find yourself on a pretty island, rich in history. Isla Tabarca even used to be inhabited by pirates!

2. Torrevieja Bay
If you’d like to spend some time on the water but don’t fancy a full excursion, why not take a tour of Torrevieja’s beautiful bay? A boat trip around this natural cove takes around 30 minutes and will give you the chance to soak up some maritime vibes, while getting to know the town a little better. A great short boat trip for kids, hop aboard to check out the beaches and boats of the area.
Want to check out one of the major cities and tourist destinations in the area? Why not visit Alicante by boat? Located just 50km north along the Costa Blanca, the buzzing city of Alicante is a popular spot with many visitors, boasting a vibrant nightlife along with great restaurants, popular beaches and plenty of activities for visiting holidaymakers. A little over an hour away by sea, chartering a boat from Torrevieja is a fun way to visit this famous destination.
After a proper voyage? Charter a boat from Torrevieja to Cartagena, south along the Costa Blanca and into the region of Murcia. An incredibly historic port town, this ancient city was founded around 220 BC by the Carthaginians home to a Roman amphitheater and lots of astonishing ancient ruins, this is a fascinating destination for history buffs. Around 2-3 hours away by boat, a trip to Cartagena is a lengthy voyage, but an exciting trip if you want to soak up some ocean fun.

5. Mil Palmeras
Want to enjoy an easy, beachy day by boat? Sail south of Torrevieja along the sandy Costa Orihuela portion of the Costa Blanca. With 16km of blue flag beaches to choose from, you’re sure to find a perfect spot to disembark.
